The story (https://www.moddb.com/mods/revolt-the-decimation):

The Decimation Chapter 16 While the stalemate continues, the Empire begins to cleanse their "impurities". A staged game of execution is broadcasted as entertainment to the common people of the Empire. Thousands die and are cheered for their staged heroics. PLAY . SERIOUS The Decimation is a competitive clan controlled combat system. The battle-grounds and weapons are designed for perfect balance between teams. The primary game mode is a two-stage object that whatever team owns control of the middle determines offense. Player positions are vital and ideally, should change depending on offense and defense. The game is set up as a sport and the strategic team can out maneuver a team full of individuals who have superior shooting skills. The objective clearly defines areas of battle for control with dormant regions that can be used to flank the enemy or creep into position to set up the ultimate power play. National Blood Sport

National Blood Sport was a Kuma Reality Games title. It was an updated version of the Half-Life 2 mod Revolt: The Decimation.

National Blood Sport shipped with 12 maps: bs_battery, bs_blackout, bs_checkmate, bs_crazy8s, bs_frigid, bs_gridiron, bs_hijinks, bs_topside, bs_torsion, bs_trenchfoot, bs_turf and bs_washout.

It is unclear how or why it became a Kuma Reality Games title, but presumably Kuma Reality Games wanted to expand their free game offerings. From https://www.moddb.com/mods/revolt-the-decimation on 2nd June, 2013:

I played this when it came out and was one of the top players; I met the developers and had a lot of talks with them. They had a patch in the works early on but they were disappointed with the player turnout on the initial release. They stopped working on the patch and decided to abandon the mod to make a move to create the game standalone, "mods are on the downfall" they said, "we need to make it standalone". They got a contract with "Kuma Games" to do some development work for them, as well as allowing them to create Decimation as one of their free games. 2 years later on January 1st 2010 Kuma announced the release of a new game, "National Blood Sport", the first release of the new revamped Decimation. The devs were not pleased with the player turnout this time either and they shortly halted all further development of the game and dropped off the face of the planet. I've sent emails and messages but haven't gotten a single reply back, me and a friend of mine are capable of taking over the development of Decimation and we are interested in getting access to the source of the original mod which I am not sure Kuma still owns or not. The devs are working at unknown companies now probably professional jobs, while this great game is rotting in the corner, all it needed was steady updates and time, but the devs wouldn't have that. :(
