Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines
Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines was developed by Troika Games and was released in 2004. It was one of the first Source engine games.
According to Michael Labbé of Threewave Software, Threewave Software assisted Troika Games with optimisations and bugfixes.
As the game was released before 64-bit operating systems were commonplace, it will not run on modern systems without some modifications: in engine.dll
(the version that is 1986620 bytes in size) change 0x000FA494
(FA384
in v1.0) from 7D
to EB
(this fixes the game not correctly getting the amount of available RAM and exiting) and in shaderapidx9.dll
change 0x000262CC
from 75
to 90
, change 0x000262CD
from 0C
to 90
and change 0x000262D4
from 04
to 7F
(this fixes the game not correctly determining the amount of GPU memory and rendering with poor graphics settings).
